KTM made its debut in the big roadster segment with the 990 Superduke in 2005. At the time, it cubed 999 cm3 and produced 122 horsepower. Immediately beastly, the machine improved in small steps, then became monstrous in 2014 by recovering and increasing the cubic capacity of the RC-8R hypersport engine. Becoming a Superduke 1290 R, its power will then climb to 180 hp, while electronics are increasingly involved in rider assistance. You won't find a meaner two-cylinder roadster. A slightly less vindictive GT version offers a little more protection and a certain conception of touring. The 990 will be available in standard, R and RR versions. The 1290 was born in the R version, and has had an Evo version with semi-active suspension since 2022. In 2024, the engine's displacement was increased to 1,350 cm3. The resulting 1390 Superduke R boasted 190 hp and an insane 14.8 mkg of torque.
