The manufacturers in United Kingdom

United Kingdom
Alongside France and Italy, England is one of the the most prolific nations in the realm of motorcycles. More than 1200 brands were created there, without counting the influence they had on the countries of the Commonwealth, where numerous manufacturers emerged. England can boast about prestigious brands such as Brough Superior, Northon, Triumph, BSA, Matchless, Scott, Vincent, Ariel, and Velocette. There were also historical blows, like th one of Royal Enfield, which was founded near Redditch and today is identified as an important Indian brand. Of all the big names to come to Ace Café London, only Triumph still represents large-scale production from the other side of the Channel - as well as a selection of artisans keeping this English passion alive, like CCM. Even though the English motorcycle industry dominated the market for decades, the quality of fabrication and the reliability did not evolve to the level expected by customers. When the Japanese tidal wave arrived, the "British" characteristics were not enough and almost all brands disappeared. England and motorcycling are also synonymous with great names such as Phil Read, Mike Hailwood, Carl Fogarty, Barry Sheene, John Surtees and Geof Duke.
