The biggest factory of the world, soon the biggest economy in the world, and a motorcycle production that does not stop growing. Long confined to small cylinders and copies, China now eyes production of larger cylinders, but most of its production remains low-cost. Yet the attraction of Chinese manufacturing is such that big brands have partnered with large local companies to manufacture parts. China is the land of the 125cc and UVs, with impressive production figures of over 20 million motorized two-wheelers a year. Even though the history of motorcycles in China only started in 1951, the country occupies a strategic place in the world's production nonetheless. Yet, in 10 or 20 years, will we be buying a Loncin, a CF Moto, a Zongshen or a Shineray in the same way one buys a Honda or a BMW?
